WebBrinjal shoot and fruit borer is the most destructive pest of brinjal, which caused 31-86% fruit damage in Bangladesh (Alam et al., 2003) reaching up to 90% (Raman, 1997), 37-63% in India (Dhankar, 1988) and 50-70% in Pakistan (Saeed & Khan, 1997). WebOther agronomical observations were also recorded and economic benefits of the technology were calculated. A clear advantage of the technology in terms of negligible shoot infestation and significantly reduced fruit infestation in all the Bt brinjal varieties compared to their non-Bt counterparts was observed.
