The battery will get screwed up again within a few days or weeks at most (charge drops to zero, it becomes not detected, says "not charging" even when plugged in etc.). This trick worked for a few months, but now if I perform it, it no longer helps at all. The battery is always at 0%.

WebUsually the back port dies first, and then the front USB-C port works for a while, but then goes to a slow-charge mode where it either charges slowly, but ultimately drains the battery unless the laptop is powered down or asleep, and eventually both ports fail completely and unit needs replaced.
